1. Swapping out allies as needs change

   It occurs to me that allies we find at the beginning of our journeys may not be ideal for each other's needs later on.

   For instance, If I am currently working on getting better from surgery, but I know I am later going to want to work on macrame, my allies who are also recovering from surgery may not want to follow me on that journey.

   Is there a way for allies to 'break up' when they are no longer finding each other useful without it being hurtful?

   Could there also be a way to introduce allies to someone new who you think they might get on with? (This might allow for as 'swap me for this guy' mechanic.)

2. Sidekick Response Training part 4- Emotionally confusing

   This particular quest builds on a small amount of Mindfulness training.
   The fact that this suggests falling back on a single technique in the face of a range of 'difficult emotional situations' is not ideal.

   I live with a workaholic, and this is exactly the kind of thinking that he is trying to learn not to do. A workaholic applies simple techniques unilaterally, without taking into account the nuances of a situation, so this kind of advice is dangerous for someone like him.

   Why not build on a mindfulness base with mindfulness?
   Thinking "What do I stand for?" is not going to be useful in all circumstances, and might actually make things worse sometimes.

   The whole powerpack also completely ignores the need for communication (another workaholic trait,) where sometimes the most powerful way of solving a problem is to simply say to the people involved, "I'm having a strong emotional reaction right now, so right now I need to go deal with that, but I would like to talk this through afterwards."

   Mindfulness is about clearly communicating with yourself by cutting down on internal noise, allowing you to clearly identify and ask for your needs from others. It should also allow you to hear and respond to the needs of others. Interdependance is a key part of mindful action, and needs to be built in to this powerpack.

3. No feedback that I succeeded in changing my password

   After receiving the password-recovery email, and filling in the new password twice, the form clears and nothing suggests I've succeeded.

4. Capture how hard the battle was

   It would nice to specify how challenging the battle was. On some days, though I won the battle, it was an easy win. But on some other days, I might have had to really struggle hard to win the battle and I endured. Getting that captured might make me feel extra special about having made it through

5. The basis behind choosing your epic win - gaining allies with common goals

   I watched Jane McGonigal's TED talk where she talks about saving the world with gaming and thought it was fascinating. I'd like to make my epic win something very meaningful but right now it's very general (get better in all four of the resilience categories) which makes it hard to really see my progress.

   I think it would be great if you could befriend (become allies with) enough people on SuperBetter that had common goals and you could all work together and help each other get to where you want to get.

   Just like WoW or some other game, you would be working together with other people to do something together. For instance, if there were many people that just wanted to be kinder to society, you could set goals toward it in real life and then go online to encourage others to do the same, share all kinds of ideas with each other, etc.

   Maybe there could be some sort of a forum setup where you could talk with all of these people and track progress, etc.

6. Multiple times a day powerups

   I'd love it if you could have a type of power up that should happen multiple times in one day -- like drinking water 8 glasses a day. Maybe it can show "2 out of 8 checkins today" or similar with a pie shape (which would go with the color wheel scheme).

7. iPhone app not compatible with iPod Touch

   I know it's called an iPhone app, but these apps are almost always compatible with iPod Touch. When I tried to download it, it said that the app required a camera. Why? Please make the app compatible for iPod Touch users. Thanks!

   Sorry about this — the app requires a camera because some of the quests require a camera. However, we agree it’s an unfortunate limitation, so we’re looking into ways to make that part optional in the future.

8. Social Media Connectivity and More

   A few ideas:

   1. Add private messaging. We are currently using 'Check ins' as prive messages as we do not want others seeing what we put on each other's walls all the time.

   2. Consider adding instant chat, but the above takes priority.

   3. Add Ally pages. Currently I can only look at my allies if they are heroes and I am acting as an ally to them. However, i have allies that are using Superbetter PURELY as allies, and have not created their own heroes. I cannot contact them via the site or view a page dedicated to them however, and this is unfortunate because it limits the level of support they can give me.

   4. Consider a mobile app (I understand this may not be viable as a non-profit organisation though). Sometimes when I am out and about and complete a quest or activate a power up I forget to update the progress when I get home, meaning my scores do not always reflect reality and this is a shame. A mobile app would allow me to keep track of my quests at all times, and allow me to update my progress as it happens.

   5. GIVE ME A JOB! I became interested in studying the effects of video games on the user during my Psychology degree, and am currently reading about game design with the hopes of researching the topic further one day, and even designing my own games to aid people. Then I found this- a dream come true!. I would do anything to work for the superbetter team, even if my role starts low (For example, I could edit the quests as I noticed numerous spelling and grammar mistakes) or I could act as a representative in some way. I could even act as research assistant due to my education! (I realize this sounds needy but, I believe in seizing opportunities from all angles).

   6.Keep up the good work!

9. Too many videos!

   First off - WOW. Great job!
   A few thoughts. Videos take time to watch and make noise. Fun graphics that gave me the gist at a glance would be cool. Also, you have way to much Jane. As much as I completely adore her work, it's a bit over the top in terms of avatar presence. It's like going to a yoga studio where the owner hung up 900 pictures of themselves.... I'd prefer an adorable robot or character that was animated. Fitocracy gets that right with Fred. Also, Creative Commons did a good job with that a few years back. People relate more to characters -- Re: Scott McCloud. :)
   Again, it's amazing!!!! I wish I'd of had this when I first recovered, but now I'm just down to managing and it's still helpful. I think people will love it. Thanks for contributing this to the world.

    The secret identity isn’t designed to literally be a secret – it’s your hero identity, if you’d prefer to think of it that way, the name you give to the source of strength and heroism inside you. There’s no reason to worry about sharing it with your allies – most allies find it pretty cool to see what their hero has chosen for their secret identity! 12. Is there a way to prioritise quests?

    Currently, the To Do list seems to pick three quests almost at random. It will only register that you have done three quests if you do the ones it picks, even if you have done more than three, but not the pre-selected options.

    Is there a way to either get the To Do list to recognise that you have done other quests, or to de-select those quests and prioritse your own?

    It might be nice to be able to go in the morning and click something to say "today I choose to work on --."

    We’re actually in the process of implementing exactly that – you’ll be able to specify “Do Today” on quests or “Not Today” if they’re already on your To Do.

    The fact that it’s only registering the quests on your To Do is a bug – will investigate!

    This should be working – if you click on a Power-up, then click EDIT, you should be able to specify an additional type of resilience (You’ll always get +1 Emotional, but you can add +1 Physical, or Social, or Mental, or another Emotional).

    Let me know if that’s not working and I’ll investigate!

14. where are the comments? I'm so confused

    I get notifications of awards, comments, etc., and I can't find them ANYWHERE. My ally says she has the same problem. Where are we failing to look? It's very confusing.

    Comments appear on the entries on your Activity wall – it doesn’t automatically expand, so you have to look for where it says “1 comment” (or whatever) and click on that link to see them. When you receive an achievement, that’s show on your profile – click your hero name at the top of your HQ, then click Achievements on the left-side menu. Hope that helps!

15. Make Activity More Like Facebook/Google+ Feeds/Streams... and Fix Links!

    I find myself clicking my name and the SB logo to go back and forth between things (not to mention switching from Hero to Ally) when it should be more integrated on one page (like a FB feed or G+ stream).

    Also, many things in Activity (and other places) are clickable but don't actually take you anywhere (like achievements or power-ups in your activity or ally's activity, you click them and just return to the page you are on instead of going to the description of that achievement or power-up, very frustrating).

16. Skip button could be implemented differently?

    I like that we have a skip button now, but it only allows you to permentantly remove a quest, which is exactly what the 'delete' button does. Sometimes we still want to do a quest, but it is not possible right now, so it would be good to be able to come back to it later.

    Can we have a way to either bring a skipped quest back from the 'past' or just have the skip button bump it a week please?

    Skip quests are viewable under “completed” quests and will soon have a “restore” ability.

17. List Reorganization

    It would be really cool if the lists of Bad Guys, Quests, and Power-Ups were reorganizable by clicking and dragging. I want to be able to prioritize my lists and put like entries together. Also, it would be cool if completed quests moved to the bottom of the uncompleted quests.

    It would also be cool if, when you hovered over an entry, a short caption would show up or something.

18. Mood Elevator powerpack stuck

    SuperBetter told me I'd completed the Mood Elevator First Floor powerpack, and then offered to take me to the first floor again. Is there a second floor yet? If so, how can I get to it?

    I used to be able to see suggestions my allies had sent me, but now I have an e-mail saying a quest has been sent, but nothing on my SB hero screen.
