A guide for users without iphones
It would be helpful if there was a system like Superbetter that can be taken with you throughout the day- for people like me without an iphone.
While the site can be accessed after I get home from my lectures, the reinforcers from quest completion and the like come many many hours after the behavior they're reinforcing. I love the site/game, but this delay will hurt its effectiveness.
Previous to discovering this site, I was working on a token reinforcement system based loosely off of Skinner's work. I'd track my "points" with marks on an index card, and arrange a system where a certain number represents an achievement, etc. Possibly a token economy too.
I wish I could bring Superbetter with me to school. If there was a guide for using it in some paper form or with beads, or whatever, it'd save me the next week studying your game to make my own :D
Thanks a million for making this!
PS, if somebody reads this, could you tell me: How much behaviorist theory still survives today, and is there a better resource than the books Skinner wrote on his work? Or has so much work been done since then that I'd be best to look elsewhere? I'm also researching animal training methods to fill in the gaps on application of the theory. I'm trying to learn to motivate and de-stress myself, as well as be able to raise a good kid one day!
