More 'getting SuperBetter from' challenge options
I'm getting SuperBetter from a chronic disease. It's not chronic pain as such, at the moment for me personally it's mainly fatigue. It's also anxiety of course, because nobody knows how or when and if it will disable me. The bad guys are inside of me, so it's battling myself, but also battling the idea that it's my fault which of course it isn't. It has definitely also been depression, so that's something to keep an eye out for as well, and sometimes it can make you feel lonely or disconnected... It's so many things at the same time, it affects life in such a big way, that I find it hard to break it up and choose one of the options in the menu.
So my suggestion is to add 'chronic disease' as an option. I know I can't get rid of it, but I'm convinced that I can get SuperBetter from it. I'm SO ready to kick its butt ;)
It probably seems like a detail, but naming the issue is important in terms of acceptance. I can think of a couple more things to add like learning disorders, autism, identity crises... or just the option 'other' and then the possibility to specify. (I read that the app has an 'other' option, but the website doesn't) - 'just' getting SB doesn't quite cover it either, because that sounds as if you don't really have a specific challenge at all (which may be the case for some, of course).
Side not: I love the concept of SB, I feel that you totally get what it's about, so thank you for sharing this with us!

This is precisely the suggestion I intended to make -- chronic pain sucks, depression and anxiety and all the rest are inconvenient ... but it's my chronic illness in and of itself that I have to work so hard to manage. It's not something I'll ever get all better from, but simply being able to name chronic illness as my Big Bad would help. Anything else just doesn't cover the experience.
